About the Role

We are hiring a South Island–based Business Development Manager to own growth across the South Island.

This is a field-first role. You will be on the road most weeks, visiting agencies, running in-person demos, building relationships, and closing deals.

You will be the local face of Keyhook across the South Island.

What You'll Be Doing

New Business Development

  • Own new business activity across the South Island.
  • Proactively identify, approach, and engage property management agencies.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • Run high-quality, tailored demos (in-person and remote).
  • Convert interest into signed customers and committed go-lives.

Relationship Building

  • Build long-term relationships with agency owners, managers, and senior PMs.
  • Become a trusted industry presence — not a transactional salesperson.
  • Attend industry events, regional meetups, and local networking opportunities.

Territory Ownership

  • Plan and execute regular road trips across the South Island.
  • Manage your own schedule, travel, and activity cadence.
  • Maintain strong coverage across major centres and regional towns.

Collaboration with CX & Product

  • Work closely with Customer Experience to ensure smooth handovers post-sale.
  • Feed market insights, objections, and competitor intelligence back to the business.
  • Support product launches and campaigns in-region.

  • Consistent pipeline growth across the South Island.
  • Strong demo-to-close conversion rates.
  • High-quality customers who onboard smoothly and stick.
  • Keyhook becoming a recognised and trusted name in the region.

About You

You are:

  • Comfortable living out of a car and a suitcase when needed.
  • Confident presenting to groups and senior decision-makers.
  • Warm, credible, and easy to trust.
  • Commercially sharp and outcome-focused.
  • Self-directed — you don't need daily oversight to perform.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Have BDM or field sales experience (SaaS, PropTech, or adjacent industries ideal).
  • Are excellent at live product demos.
  • Enjoy travel and autonomy.
  • Can manage long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Are motivated by performance and results.

Property management experience is a plus, but not required.

Compensation Package

We offer a strong, market-competitive package designed for someone who will be consistently on the road and meeting clients.

  • Base salary: Competitive and aligned to senior field sales roles
  • Uncapped commission: Clear, achievable commission structure tied to new customers and revenue
  • Vehicle: Fully maintained company vehicle or vehicle allowance
  • Fuel: Petrol card or fully reimbursed fuel costs
  • Travel expenses: Accommodation, meals, and travel
